Co-Artistic Director Zoe Flint has experience of directing both conventionally scripted and devised pieces with the majority of her experience in immersive theatre. An actress with full training, and comprehensive knowledge of classical music and performance theory, Zoe’s academic foundation guides Bacchanalia, with Chris’ integral artful vision, with purpose and direction to produce exciting and memorable pieces of theatre.
Co-Artistic Director Chris Scanlan brings the integral visionary design and aesthetic to Bacchanalia’s productions. His background in fine art and photography, as well as his theatrical training, give him the unique role of ‘cinematographer for the stage’ and thus shapes the visual identity of the company. As the company visual director, he works alongside Zoe to create the signature Bacchanalia aesthetic for their performances
Producer Sarah Arden initially trained as an actor alongside Zoe and Chris. She has since worked with companies such as the Orange Tree Theatre, Told by an Idiot and ATG. She is currently the Executive Assistant at Fuel as well as being a Creative Entrepreneur, supported by Guildhall School for Music and Drama and Cause4. She also freelance produces for Engineer Theatre Collective (Barbican Pit, Open Lab, 2018) and Dark Roots Theatre Company (Untitled Doc. 2017). She has also previously worked as an Adminstrator for the Birmingham Stage Company across shows such as Horrible Histories Best of Barmy Britain (West End), David Walliams’ Gangsta Granny (UK Tour), and Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine (Centenary Tour).
Technical Operator Reece Francis is a freelance theatre technician and operator that brings the worlds of Bacchanalia to life. He works closely with Zoe and Chris on all the visual and audio aspects of our shows. Reece's first production with Bacchanalia Theatre was Thalia’s Taverna (2017). His previous credits include: Peter Pan as Lighting Assistant (National Theatre, 2016), The Wind in the Willows as Lighting Technician (Rose Theatre Kingston, 2016) and Oyster Boy for Haste Theatre Company as Sound Operator.
Owen Kingston is an award winning writer and director and producer for stage and screen. He is the Artistic Director of Parabolic Theatre, an immersive theatre company, and is involved with Bacchanalia primarily in an advisory capacity. With Owen's watchful eye as our company begins to flourish, Bacchanalia is set to achieve great things in the future.
